Poured porcelain spreads on the floor of the exhibition space, hardens and dries. Gradually, more and more fine cracks appear on the surface, the surface becomes brittle and splinters. Mahnke engages with the uncertainties and the fragility of the porcelain, thus metaphorically materialising her perception of the present situation.
Not only are porcelain and ceramics her materials, but also language and text, whose uncontrollability she explores through the technique of automatic writing. The booklet contains a selection of automatic texts and poems that Mahnke has written in recent months.
