Mahnke/Hoffmann
Artist Duo
Laura Mahnke regularly collaborates with Paula Hoffmann. They met as co-founders of the curatorial collective Cake&Cash, which has been active since 2019. Through Cake&Cash, Mahnke and Hoffmann have since explored forms of cooperation and collaboration both as a mode of working and in their projects, such as during their tenure as directors of the HFBK Galerie or during a long-term residency at the Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof. As a continuation of this wide-ranging curatorial practice, the duo’s explicitly artistic work emerged, within which Mahnke/Hoffmann explore questions of joint and parallel production, solidarity, direct and unconscious inspiration, authorship, proximity, and distance.
Apart from temporary room installations, their main project is Sisters in Crime that takes place annualy in different shapes and locations.
