Clouds I & II are part of my master’s project: a haptic research and material study in which I explore time-based clay practices and their possible entanglements with écriture automatique. In Clouds I, I assemble fragmented memories, grieve and reimagine them into a new narrative.  Words appear as old companions or new, eerie encounters that originate in current political situations. I think about time and the contemporaneity of yearning and fear, the past, the now – and what they could mean to me. The pieces are leftovers from my ceramic production. They were not tailored to the exhibition space.
„How can we fight it (the patriarchal, capitalist system)? (…) in the end, true resistance may lie in listening to oneself. This is what the leftovers of terracotta plates, on which words have been handwritten, are trying to whisper to us. The fragments are spread through the exhibition space, both visible and invisible, but significant enough to suggest that in this place a heart is beating, a person is aware. To resist is to make oneself heard while listening to oneself.“
